It is a privilege to be able to work with schools to support some of the most vulnerable members of the school community.
Learners with low level English skills struggle to access the curriculum and engage in school life. By partnering with The Grange Academy and Hertswood Academy, Confident English is working to provide these students with better English skills to communicate effectively and increase learner confidence.

‘Our partnership with Confident English began as a result of the government’s ‘Operation Warm Welcome’ scheme. Our school accepted a large group of Afghan refugees whose language abilities ranged from fair to almost non-existent.
Our school EAL department really valued the support and specialised expertise that Confident English brought to the table.

‘Hertswood Academy has worked closely with Confident English over the last two years. Initially contracted to support the Afghan and Ukrainian refugees who had recently arrived at the school, Confident English provided support, in both group tuition and more specialised 1:1 sessions. The partnership developed, with Confident English providing tuition for a range of EAL pupils from a range of backgrounds, ages and abilities.
They understand the importance of a supportive and encouraging learning environment, whilst ensuring that students have clear, achievable goals to work towards. We receive regular feedback on students’ progress and there are regular opportunities to discuss adaptations and to be updated on individual issues. Feedback has been provided in a variety of formats. The invitation to come and listen to individual presentations by the students, about themselves, their experiences in the UK and to hear about their hopes for the future was an excellent opportunity to celebrate the partnership and the progress of individual students.
